(Dealer Bonds) Are smart alternatives to bank guarantees. They provide easier, more capital efficient ways for franchisors, or manufacturers, to obtain financial security from their franchisees or dealers. These are often underwritten without hard collateral. Examples of use: Fuel retail, FMCG sector and heavy machinery retail.
Surety bonds and Guarantees are used in the construction sector the world over. The bonds indemnify the beneficiary from loss arising from a breach of contract by the contractor. Examples of these bonds: Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, Bonds In Lieu of Retentions and Maintenance Bonds.
These are Insolvency Guarantees to protect the Homeowner from the insolvency of a home builder, covering the homeowner against loss of deposits and non-completion of works. Cover can be extended for defects arising post completion where the builder is not able to rectify defects due to insolvency.
These Credit Guarantees replace the need for third party Personal Guarantees often required to obtain small unsecured consumption loans, from Employee Co‑operatives and Credit Unions for example.
Accepted by the landlord as an alternative to a cash deposit, a Lease Bond indemnifies the landlord from unpaid rent or unpaid operating expenses in the event of a breach of the lease agreement by the tenant. The landlord can terminate the lease and call up the Lease Bond to remedy financial losses arising from a breach.
Issued in favour of the Seller of a residential property on behalf of the Buyer as an alternative to a cash deposit when buying a residential property. If the buyer defaults on their payment obligations on completion, the Seller can call up the Deposit Bond, and be immediately paid the full amount of the deposit.
